Why is a website required during signup? What if I don’t have a website?
For our default “New Merchant” plan, a valid website is required for verification of you and your business. The website is used for verification purposes only, and will never be displayed publicly or used for advertising purposes.
If you don’t have a website for you or your business, you can create a free Facebook or Linkedin profile for yourself or business. However, the profile must contain some up–to–date information and cannot be left blank. Another option would be a review site, such as Yelp, which contains information about your business.
When entering the URL for your Facebook or Linkedin page, be sure to submit the correct address:
- For Facebook, navigate to your profile page and copy the URL in your browser’s address/location bar.
- For Linkedin, navigate to your profile page and copy the URL that is displayed underneath your profile picture.
